  5. I'm sure the earthquake stopped right at the border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Just as I'm sure that "true story" means something different to Pat than it does to me.

  8. ...they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, "We will serve you if you will get us free from the French." True story. And so, the devil said, "OK, it's a deal."

And they kicked the French out. You know, the Haitians revolted and got themselves free. But ever since, they have been cursed by one thing after the other.

US invasion and occupation of Haiti - 1915-1934
US support of Duvalier dictatorships - 1957-1986
US supported coup ousts reformist leader Aristide - 1991
US imposes crippling neoliberal economic regime as quid pro quo for allowing Aristide to return - 1994
US imposes economic embargo on Haiti to force regime change - 2003
US supported coup removes Aristide again - 2004
    ...

So what is Pat saying: that the United States are the agents of Satan?

Yes, and the stench of sulfur the US emits is all the rage these days.

  13. The impact of this earthquake is so big. One of the UN peacekeepers in Haiti is my brother and luckily he was not belonged to whom burried alive. He called me after the tragedy that with fright. He was not shocked with the wars he engaged here in our country and in other countries he met but this very scary tragedy, he said a prayer to make him safe, he added.

  14. I personally don't think it was the devil that allowed the slaves to win the revolt. It was a numbers game. 500,000 to 30,000, or about 16 to 1.

If only God had given the French the machine gun then instead of those muskets. If Roberson should be blaming anyone it's God.

Admittedly the place has some bad karma. Virginia Beach isn't far behind.
